Project Transformation Indiana began organizing in 2017 after many years of prayer, conversations, visits to the Tennessee and Dallas-based programs, and dreaming of bringing the program to the Indiana Conference.
Beginning in January 2017 a small group of dedicated individuals worked together to guide start-up efforts and lay the groundwork for replicating the ministry of Project Transformation in Indiana. Following a kickoff meeting in August 2017 which brought over 30 clergy and community leaders together, a Launch Team was created to further the start-up process and establish foundational support and partnerships with United Methodist Churches in the Indiana Conference.
With support from Project Transformation National and the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church, the Indiana Chapter will launch in the greater Indianapolis area in the Summer of 2018 with 18 college interns and dozens of sponsoring churches to provide a summer experience at host churches for underserved communities.
Once the first summer is underway, the vision is to expand Project Transformation throughout the entire state of Indiana for greater impact.
