Project Transformation Indiana Virtual Reading Buddies Program

Project Transformation is excited to launch our Virtual Reading Buddies program this year in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the literacy and educational set-backs that many of our children have experienced as a result of the virus. This is a reimagined version of our summer reading program to provide children with extra support throughout the school year and provide an opportunity for connection and relationship-building between children and volunteers.  

Virtual Reading Buddies is a time for children in grades 1-6 to practice their reading skills and connect with volunteers over Zoom. We hope this will be a time for relationship-building and encouragement. These Zoom reading sessions will be about 30 minutes long and take place on Wednesdays at 6 pm, from January 27- March 24. Volunteers will be paired with kids in small group breakout rooms and provided access to electronic books shared on the screen for reading together.
