Join us as we partner and march with the Empowered Readers Literacy Project in January! Dress up as your favorite character from your favorite book and join the Empowered Readers Literacy Project for the inaugural March to 20Hundred Thousand Books: A Children’s March for Literacy! We are uniting Atlanta communities and children to join us and take to the streets to shed light on the epidemic of illiteracy and its proximal side effects on our society, all while empowering children to reclaim their narrative, tell their own stories and get excited about reading!

Empowered Readers is the brainchild of a 6-year-old little girl who challenged her family to help her find a way to combat illiteracy. Check out more about her amazing story by watching the video below!

The March is taking place MLK weekend Saturday January 19th and we will be Marching from Turner Field down Georgia ave to the old Georgia Hill Library location in Grant Park. At the end of The March we will be planting 3 fully stocked Little Free Libraries and dedicating them to the community. The goal of The March is to collect 5,000 books and raise $30,000 so that we can plant 72 Little Free Libraries in Atlanta neighborhoods that are located in Library Deserts. You can register (for free) for the march HERE.
