Project Transformation North Georgia began organizing in 2016 after many prayers and conversations, the dream of bringing the program to the North Georgia Conference began to take shape.

The ground work began with 3 Project Transformation alumni who found common ground in a dream for a Project Transformation North Georgia during their time at Candler School of Theology. In January 2017, they began to formĀ  a small group of dedicated individuals who worked together to guide start-up efforts and lay the groundwork for replicating the ministry of Project Transformation in Atlanta. The team worked to establish foundation support through partnerships with United Methodist Churches in the North Georgia Conference and the the greater Atlanta community. After securing enough grassroots support, in August 2018 Project Transformation National approved North Georgia to be the ninth chapter launch of our National network.

Summer 2019 was our first summer of programming. We started with two host churches in the greater Atlanta area (Sandy Springs and Stone Mountain). We hired 12 young adults and offered camp for 88 kids. The vision is to expand Project Transformation North Georgia throughout the greater Atlanta community.
