IMPORTANT: Below are the ways people can get involved, when we aren’t in the midst of a pandemic. Our program has adjusted for the summer of 2020. You can find the most up to date information HERE.
There are numerous ways to connect and get involved with Project Transformation North Georgia!
Our program for elementary school children operates at two site churches, North Springs UMC and Stone Mountain First UMC, Monday – Thursday. This day camp requires hundreds of volunteers to operate! You can get involved in the following ways:
Assist in coding and sorting our library books: Volunteer to help us expand our reading library! Once a month volunteers gather, in collaboration with the Junior League of Dekalb County, to code our children’s books for the summer camp library! This is a simple process and helps the kids have access to a wider variety of books. You can sign up to HERE.
*Read one-on-one with children: Reading volunteers listen to each child read for 30 minutes. After reading, the pair engages in discussion and comprehension activities about the story. The reading component takes place at our day camp locations on Monday-Thursday from 9:30-12:00.
*Bring and share dinner with college-age interns (Sunday – Thursday evenings) You are invited to bring and share a meal with the 16 college students who serve in Project Transformation summer programs. Our young adult interns are eager to share their camp stories with you!
*Sign ups for these two opportunities will begin in the Spring of 2020.
Family Fun Nights (twice in the summer) Provide a meal for our children and families (approximately 100). This is fanstatic opportunity to be engaged with all of the pieces of our ministry. They are our favorite events and you won’t want to miss it! Email Diane Ward at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule.
Donating Supplies (ongoing) Check out our wish list!
Pray with Project Transformation North Georgia! Whether or not you are able to serve directly with PT, we invite you to join us in surrounding our children, interns, families, churches, and volunteers in prayer.
The opportunities to get involved are limited only by your interests! Contact Diane Ward at email@example.com if there are other ways you might be interested in volunteering your time with our kids. We’ll look forward to hearing from you.
