Project Transformation Pacific Northwest launched in Southwest Washington, centered in Vancouver, on September 1. Since then we have been doing a lot to get the word out about who we are, what we stand for, and build relationships in the community! Our mission is to engage young adults in purposeful leadership and ministry, support underserved children and families, and connect churches to communities in need.
Project Transformation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that seeks to break cycles of childhood poverty using avenues of literacy and targeting particular social and emotional learning skills. We work with children in the community to help them develop skills in kindness, generosity, honesty, integrity, and respect among others. These soft learning skills help the children to be better friends, better family members, better community members, and better versions of themselves.
Rachel Neer, Executive Director, has been in the United Methodist Church since she was small and is currently in the process to become an ordained Deacon. As a Deacon, she works to bridge the church and the world. Project Transformation is already doing this in communities as Rachel volunteers in local schools, meets with community leaders, and attends other community events.
We are excited for Project Transformation to be here in the Pacific Northwest and look forward to uncovering the multitude of ways that we can be in ministry together!
