There are numerous ways to connect and get involved with Project Transformation Tennessee!
Project Transformation offers after-school programming for elementary students at three of our Nashville area site churches Monday through Thursday (Antioch UMC, Matthews Memorial UMC, and Trinity Community Commons). There are numerous ways to serve:
Help with homework! Project Transformation is looking for caring volunteers to offer one-on-one homework and reading tutoring. We ask volunteers to consider committing to one day per week. All volunteers are asked to participate in a one-hour orientation session prior to service. Read our Afterschool Homework Buddy Volunteer Description, and then fill out volunteer application here. (Sept-May, Mon-Thurs, 4-5:15p)
Offer program support! In addition to Homework Buddies, Project Transformation is need of caring volunteers to offer tutoring as well as support of other enrichment activities. This volunteer will work closely with the young adult Fellow to support the program. We ask volunteers to consider committing to one day per week. All volunteers are asked to participate in a one-hour orientation session prior to service. Read our Afterschool Program Aide Volunteer Description, and then fill out a volunteer application here. (Sept-May, Mon-Thurs, 2:45-6p)
Provide a dinner for our year-round fellows! Calling all Chefs! Three diverse young adults from across the country serve in Project Transformation’s afterschool program. Each Sunday evening, they gather for a community meal and we invite churches, Sunday school classes, and circles to provide this meal at their community house on the campus of Scarritt Bennett Center. This is a great opportunity to serve and get to know young people who are really making a difference! (Sept-May, Sunday evenings, 6-7p)
Serve a meal at a Family Fun Night! Family Fun Nights are a great volunteer opportunity for groups! They happen twice a semester during the school year and each month during the summer at each of our sites. This is an evening of fun for the children and parents in our programs. Volunteers are needed to provide meals and assist with activities. (Sept-May, Thursday evenings, 5:30-7p)
Our program for elementary and middle school youth operates at nine site churches in the Middle and West Tennessee areas. The summer program alone requires over 1300 volunteers to operate! You can get involved in the following ways:
Read one-on-one with children at our summer program sites. Both individuals and groups are welcome! (June-July, Mon-Thurs, 9:15a-12:15p)
Provide dinner for our young adult interns living on college campuses (Belmont, MTSU, Christian Brothers, Austin Peay); Stay and fellowship! (June-July, Sun-Thurs, 5:40-7p)
Provide a Family Fun Night Meal for our children and families! (June-July, Thursday nights)
Collect new books and supplies! Click here for our wish list.
Pray with Project Transformation Tennessee! Whether or not you are able to serve directly with PT, we invite you to join us in surrounding our children, interns, families, churches, and volunteers in prayer.
The opportunities to get involved are limited only by your interests!
