{"id":5039,"date":"2018-01-09T18:19:45","date_gmt":"2018-01-09T18:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projecttransformation.org\/tennessee\/?page_id=5039"},"modified":"2026-01-09T16:42:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T16:42:18","slug":"summer-community-director","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/projecttransformation.org\/tennessee\/our-programs\/internships\/summer-community-director","title":{"rendered":"Summer Community Director"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer Community Director<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>In the spirit of the mission of Project Transformation, Community Directors are responsible for the planning, coordination, and facilitation of all activities related to intentional community, vocational discernment, and spiritual life of summer program interns.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Essential Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Instill a nurturing, supportive environment for vocational discernment in the Summer Staff Community by offering pastoral support and encouragement engaging interns in meaningful reflection as they experience the joys and challenges of the summer experience.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Cultivate intentional Christ-centered community, by modeling servant leadership, prioritizing inclusiveness, and offering space for interns to connect with each other.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Create space for spiritual growth and development through dynamic worship, study, and conversation, incorporating diverse styles and experiences, engaging interns in leadership, and inviting all to encounter God in new ways.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Build and model a culture of hospitality and gratitude.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Manage intern housing operations by overseeing community chores, disseminating information, managing maintenance issues, shopping for groceries, addressing community needs, and engaging interns in planning community events and activities.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Work collaboratively with the other Community Directors and PT staff.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>There\u2019s no way we ever could\u00a0<em>fully<\/em> explain the Community Director experience, but it somewhat mirrors our Summer Internship experience, so <a href=\"https:\/\/projecttransformation.org\/tennessee\/our-programs\/internships\/faqs\"><strong>visit our FAQ page<\/strong><\/a> for more details about that or email Ellie Crain at <a href=\"mailto:crain@pttennessee.org\">crain@pttennessee.org<\/a> with any questions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Details<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Compensation: $6,000 + housing + most meals<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Summer Dates: May 18, 2026 &#8211; July 31, 2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Competitive applicants:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>possess skills for ministry with college-age young adults,<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>are highly motivated self-starters,<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>display strong interpersonal and communication skills,<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>are open-minded,<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>have a desire to love and serve others,<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>and are dedicated to living in community with others in a structured environment.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>**Highly competitive applicants have theological training.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Procedure<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United States.
