She also holds a master&#8217;s degree in public administration from Keller School of Management (Oak Brook, IL).\u00a0 Throughout her professional career, she has served in various positions in the non-profit sector including fundraising and development, volunteer management, special event planning, and community engagement. Ms. Thomas also spent years writing grants for affordable housing, creating strategic plans and other professional documents for community development corporations, churches and starter non-profits. Her most recent role was in Memphis government, managing the South branch library and providing innovative programming and resources for the community. She also partnered with local schools, neighborhood associations, and businesses for outreach events, speaking engagements and trainings to grow the reach of the library and increase literacy initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Thomas volunteers in the community as a Tennessee Promise high school mentor, youth &amp; young adult ministry leader at New Direction church, and Junior League of Memphis. She is the social media co- chair for Memphis Alumni Chapter of the Jackson State University National Alumni Association, Inc., and an alumna of Leadership Memphis FastTrack Class (2013).\u00a0 She is also the Founder of The Chat Room Memphis, a mentoring program for girls ages 16-21, which discusses issues related to teenage adolescence and provides community service opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Her new book, Mentor Coaching: Effective Mentoring for the Personal &amp; Professional Development of Young Adults will be released January 2022.
