Project Transformation Summer Camp 2023

This summer, Project Transformation is hosting summer camps at St. Luke United Methodist Church and Lakeside United Methodist Church. Camps are for students entering 1st to 5th grades in the fall. Students entering kindergarten or 6th grade will be taken on a case by case basis. The camp will run for 8 weeks starting June 5th and finishing on July 26th.

Camp will take place Monday to Thursday each week. Breakfast will open at 8:30am and camp will begin promptly at 9am. Pickup is at 3pm each day.

Each day campers participate in a variety of activities aimed at social emotional learning and literacy development. Mornings consist of breakfast, then a gathering time with fun songs and silly games, followed by a Bible lesson. Afterwards, campers move to rotations between creative arts, recreation, and reading time. Reading takes place one-to-one with community volunteers serving as reading buddies. In the afternoon campers receive a hot meal and head outside for free play. This time is followed by afternoon adventures and a literacy development opportunities. The day concludes with a snack and small groups.

Camp is led by college-age young adults. These young adults serve as activity leaders and role models for children in the program.
