Project Transformation’s summer day camp programs for elementary students focus on enriching the mind, body, and spirit. We place a unique focus on improving literacy and social-emotional development. Project Transformation operates eight-week summer day camps for children entering grades 1-6. Each day, children read one-to-one with community volunteers and participate in activity-based literacy intervention. Children also participate in daily enrichment activities including recreational play and exercise and creative arts. The program is designed around building mutual relationships in a safe and brave space, where each person is valued and can be and become their most authentic self.
Our camps are located at First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Bedford, George C. Clarke Elementary School, and New Riverside United Methodist Church.
The registration fee (for the entire 8-week camp) is $20 per child, with a maximum of $50 per family. The fee is due on the first day of camp.
