Originally named Project Transformation Central Texas, our chapter began organizing in 2015 after many years of prayer, conversations, visits to the Dallas-based program, and dreaming of bringing the program to the Central Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. Following a visioning meeting in October 2015 which brought over 50 clergy and lay leaders together, a Core Leadership Team was created to guide start-up efforts and lay the groundwork for replicating the ministry of Project Transformation in the Central Texas Conference. With support from Project Transformation National, our chapter launched in the greater Fort Worth area in 2017 with 20 young adult interns, dozens of sponsoring churches and impacted the lives of 168 children.  On January 1, 2025, the Central Texas Conference unified with two other United Methodist Conferences in northern Texas to form the Horizon Texas Conference.  Our chapter took this opportunity to select a name which more accurately reflected the geographic region in which our programs are located. And so, in January 2025, we officially changed our name to Project Transformation Greater Tarrant.  We are looking forward to new opportunities to grow our programming within greater Tarrant area.
