School Year Volunteer Opportunities

After School Reading Buddy Program at Woodhill Apartments

Fall 2025: Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00 PM – 5:20 PM

Through Project Transformation’s collaborative ministry model, we channel the creativity and leadership of college-age young adults to bring enriching after-school experiences to children in underserved neighborhoods. Our program connects these children with caring adult volunteers who serve as Reading Buddies, fostering a love of reading and supporting their academic growth. In addition to reading support, we also provide homework help and healthy snacks.
You can be part of this important work by becoming a Reading Buddy at Woodhill Apartments (near University Methodist Church, on Woodstone Drive). This program will resume in Fall 2025.
Volunteer Requirements:
      • All volunteers must register through GivePulse and complete a Reading Buddy training video (emailed after registration).
      • Volunteers 18+ must pass a background check.
      • High school students are welcome and do not require a background check.
      • Returning summer or school-year Reading Buddies may be exempt from training.
