Project Transformation Announces New Board Members

Project Transformation Tennessee announces the addition of five new members to its Board of Directors: Star Brumfield, Rev. Dr. Cynthia Davis, Drew Lamb, Tabitha Mundy, and Livia Smith.

“These five visionary leaders bring wisdom, innovation, and a deep commitment to our community,” says Project Transformation Executive Director Courtney Aldrich. “We could not be more thrilled to welcome them to our board.”

Star Brumfield is the owner of Nonprofit Accounting Bliss, a bookkeeping firm in Nashville. She has worked in accounting and business administration for more than 22 years, after graduating from the University of Houston. Star is a proud parent of students currently enrolled in Project Transformation’s Antioch program.

Cynthia Davis serves as the district superintendent of Mississippi River District of the United Methodist Church. Cynthia has a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary and has served in local churches since 2005. Prior to this, she had a career in healthcare. Cynthia is passionate about healthcare, congregational health, racial and gender disparities in church settings, and mental health.

Drew Lamb grew up in the “hill country” of Texas. He attended college at Belmont University and served as a Project Transformation intern in 2012, the inaugural summer in Tennessee. Drew is now a Certified Public Accountant, holding a Masters in Accounting from Vanderbilt University. He now works as a Financial Controller at Inventure Design. Drew married Hannah, a fellow PT intern, and they have one daughter. Drew has a passion for biking, the growing food scene in Nashville, and supporting local businesses.

Tabitha Mundy is a native Nashvillian and serves as the COO for Music City Cleaners in historic Germantown. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Fisk University and a Master of Science from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Active in both church and the community, Tabitha serves in leadership roles with the Tennessee State University Wesley Foundation, Living Legends, Black Methodists for Church Renewal, the Commission on Religion and Race for the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church, All About Women, the Fortitude Group, and “Girl Talk.”

Livia Smith is the Chief Operating Officer of Legal & Compliance at AllianceBernstein. Livia is a recent transplant to Nashville resulting from AllianceBernstein’s relocation of its’ headquarters. Prior to moving to Nashville, Livia was an active community member in Westchester, NY, focusing her involvement on literacy and public education. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. On Thursday afternoons, you can find Livia volunteering as a Homework Buddy at Project Transformation’s program site in East Nashville.

Project Transformation’s mission is to transform communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships.
