This summer, we are excited to host in-person programs for children at all nine of our host churches across Tennessee. Our holistic approach has not changed. Our program for children integrates literacy, social-emotional learning, and enrichment curriculum. Daily activities include structured physical fitness, creative arts, recreational play, mindfulness activities, faith formation, and virtual one-on-one reading time with community volunteers. Leading these programs for children will be our young adult interns, who will be building positive relationships with children all while growing as Christ-centered leaders themselves. We hope you’ll join us in supporting children and youth adults through purposeful relationships!
We invite all partner churches to engage in the following ways:
Provide volunteers for a virtual reading week! Assist with our summer reading program by providing volunteers to read with children virtually for one week of the summer program (Monday-Thursday, 9:45AM-12:15PM). This summer, in order to maintain public safety, we are shifting our reading program to online. Volunteers will use technology (Microsoft Teams and BookNook) to offer genuine relationship, encouragement, and reading help for children attending the summer program. View detailed instructions here, and the volunteer background check verification form here.
Middle Tennessee reading dates: June 8-July 29
Memphis reading dates: June 22-July 29
