On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am thrilled to announce the naming of Casey Mellody as the new Chief Executive Officer of Project Transformation National, as of August 27, 2024.

Mellody has served Project Transformation (PT) for 20 years and brings her experiences as a young adult, chapter staff member, and national leader to the position. Mellody began as Interim CEO with PT National on July 1, 2024. Prior to this, she served the National organization for over 8 years as the founding VP of Programs. In this role, Mellody has led program and curriculum development for PT’s children’s and youth program. She also partnered with the Forum for Theological Exploration to develop the young adult vocational discernment program. Under her leadership, PT won a National Summer Learning Award in 2015. She has experience in large-scale grants management, including AmeriCorps and Young Clergy Initiative, and has led network efforts in outcomes management and CRM integration.

Prior to her work with PT National, Mellody served as the Director of Programming & Leadership Development for PT North Texas for six years. Mellody began her service with PT while an undergraduate at Southern Methodist University as a reading tutor for PT’s after-school program and as a summer intern in 2002. She also served as a House Pastor/Community Director and Program Quality Coach prior to joining full-time staff.

Mellody’s experience with PT sparked her interest in trauma-informed ministry, her calling to journey with young adults in vocational discernment and spiritual formation, and her deep passion for exploring creative ways of doing and being church. She wholeheartedly believes that transformation and belonging happens in local communities and churches, families, and individual hearts through radically mutual, loving, and diverse relationships.

Mellody shares, “Project Transformation has incredible opportunity ahead. Young adults, children and youth, and churches are in need of powerful, nurturing connection. PT has the unique ability to connect the most beautiful groups of people in meaningful, mutual relationships. When passionate young adults lead children and youth and churches, volunteers, and donors invest, God’s kingdom is surely at hand. I am thrilled to be selected to faithfully steward this opportunity.”

Mellody holds a Master’s in Theological Studies from Perkins School of Theology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies and English (Creative Writing) from Southern Methodist University. She is certified in Outcomes and Evaluation and in Spiritual Direction.

I speak for the Board of Project Transformation National when I say that we are very excited to have someone with Casey’s expertise and passion as our new CEO. She has a deep understanding of our history and a vision for the future impact PT can have on the children, young adults, and churches we serve.

Please join me in welcoming Casey into her new role!
