We are excited to introduce Chelsea Jones at PT National’s Strategic Project Manager to oversee the new AmeriCorps National planning grant activities and work closely with the Project Transformation network as we explore this exciting opportunity. Chelsea is no stranger to the work of Project Transformation, beginning her journey with PT in the summer of 2009 while attending McMurry University for Interdisciplinary Studies. She went on to serve a total of six summers as a youth intern, House Pastor and Summer Staff. In the Fall of 2016, Chelsea then went on to serve as the first Program Director for the PT Central Texas chapter in Fort Worth. She held this position until the Spring of 2022. After completing her Masters in Theology and Ministry at Brite Divinity at TCU, Chelsea continued her work with DEI and social justice in the nonprofit world. She has a deep love for the organization as well as spending quality time with friends and family.
Project Transformation National recently received a $240,000 National Planning Grant from AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism. Beginning June 1st, this grant will explore the opportunity to expand a national partnership with AmeriCorps to strengthen our program, capture operational efficiencies, and ultimately, better serve and support the children and young adults participating in Project Transformation. As the first of their kind, these American Rescue Plan planning grants provide support to nonprofit, faith-based and community organizations for a 12-month planning period as they develop and expand AmeriCorps programs.
