We are excited to introduce Julie Wilke as PT National’s Curriculum Consultant for the 2017-2018 program year. Julie is leading Project Transformation’s collective curriculum development project to strengthen the literacy and social-emotional development of the children and youth participating in Project Transformation’s 2018 summer programs. PT National is also please to deepen our partnership with the United Methodist Publishing House’ Love in a Big World social-emotional and character development curriculum to further enhance our programming.

Julie currently serves as a facilitator for talented and gifted students, from kindergarten through seventh grade, in Winfield, Kansas, USD 465. Before assuming this post in 2015, she worked as a first-grade teacher for 3 years in the district. She attended Southwestern College in Winfield, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education in 2009 and a master’s degree in leadership studies in 2011. She is currently completing a doctorate in educational leadership, with an emphasis in teacher leadership, at Southwestern; her dissertation focus is on teacher development in gifted education.

Julie is also a Project Transformation alumna, serving her internship in PT North Texas in 2008 at Wesley-Rankin Community Center. Julie is a member of First United Methodist Church-Winfield, and she serves on the town’s public library board. Her passion is working with teachers and facilitators to provide quality curriculum. She is thrilled to join Project Transformation National, and she looks forward to collaborating with the PT network.
