As children age out of the elementary program, Project Transformation North Texas offers a youth program in the summer for students entering grades 6-9. The youth program is comprised of an 8-week day camp and a one-week overnight skills development camp, called Urban Camp. The summer program for youth is designed thematically, for a holistic learning experience to include book club discussions, athletic skills development, service projects, career exposure, and T.A.G. (Talk About God).
At the end of the summer, youth attend Urban Camp, the culmination of the entire summer experience where the PT Corps Members become their camp counselors. For many of the youth, this overnight camping experience is their first time away from home, and it ends up making a significant impact in their lives. Urban Camp is geared teambuilding and skill development, and each youth is provided with a chance to succeed. Activities include horseback riding, archery, dance, mountain biking, high and low ropes challenge course, art, music, swimming, volleyball, football, basketball, fishing, and much more.
