Project Transformation provides two key services:
Our young adults provide this second service, giving them authentic, hands-on experiences leading high-quality, structured programs for children and youth and equally important, learning from the children and youth in the program.
Our programs are strategically housed in churches in low-income communities. This partnership between the site churches and Project Transformation is designed so that churches can make new connections and form meaningful relationships of mutuality with families in their immediate neighborhood.
Our PT Corps Members serve as positive role models in their lives and take an interest in the holistic growth and development of each child. Our goal is for our participants to graduate high school, hopefully go to college, and then return to serve as PT Corps Members with Project Transformation. As children and youth grow up in our programs, attend college, and return with a commitment to influence their communities, the multiplying effects of Project Transformation will occur. We have seen this dream realized as nearly 40 of our former participants have graduated from high school, enrolled in college, and now serve as PT Corps Members at their former sites. Through the continued relationships between our participants and our young adults, we look forward to welcoming back many more former participants as PT Corps Members.
